It is said that by the age of 13 most people have already formed a religious belief system which they will hold throughout their entire lives. Because of this, we believe our teachers have a tremendous responsibility in helping to shape the spiritual and moral foundation for the children of our church.
We have committed teachers who are willing to work with our children but we are in need of someone who can help organize the schedules for the parents who help in their classes and plan various children's activities throughout the year.
Summary The Children's Volunteer Coordinator will make the church a more family-friendly place by organizing the helper schedules for various Sunday school classes along with helping to plan children's events at IBC throughout the year.
Oversees the teaching schedule for every semester (January-June and July-December) in all Sunday school classes ages 4-12.
Sends out a weekly e-mail to parents regarding what they children are learning in their classes with The Gospel Project curriculum.
Reports to Pastor Joe and helps oversee any children's activities for the church.
Helps to recruit new teachers for every semester.
Organizes teacher/helper schedules and communicates the schedule to those it effects.
Manages weekly children's helper changes and substitutions .
Communicates procedures, expectations and developments to teachers and parents of IBC.
Must be a church member and in agreement with IBC beliefs and ministry philosophy (see worksheet below).
Have a basic understanding of child development and what it is like to work with small children.
Be organized and a team player.
Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferable but not required.
Be committed to help for at least one year of service.
